<\/label><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Creating a packing list for mountain bike day trips is not an easy task. An MTB tour in the middle of summer has completely different equipment requirements than a tour in late autumn. You should therefore consider as carefully as possible in advance what to expect on the planned tour. How long will your tour be (do you need lighting), what <strong>weather conditions<\/strong> do you expect to encounter (<strong>rainwear<\/strong>, warm spare clothing, sun cream) and what <strong>terrain<\/strong> can you expect (protectors)?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of course, you could simply take as big a rucksack as possible to be prepared for all eventualities, but that is not very helpful. After all, the laws of gravity also apply to mountain biking, and every gram saved in a rucksack makes the uphill passages easier and saves energy. Over time, every cyclist will discover their own personal balance between weight-saving and <strong>comfort<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of course, safety always comes first, you should never skimp on a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.alpinetrek.co.uk\/bike-helmets\/\">bike helmet<\/a><\/strong>, for example! You also need the most important <strong>repair tools<\/strong> because you never know when and where you\u2019ll need them. Don\u2019t forget a small pump, tyre levers, a multi-tool, spare inner tube and repair kit either.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You also need to consider <strong>food<\/strong> and <strong>drink<\/strong> in advance. If you don\u2019t expect to come across guesthouses or supermarkets en route, you need to make sure you have enough food and drink. If in doubt, fill up your water at every opportunity along the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The better the tour is planned in advance and the more you know about your route, the less time you will spend during the tour looking at the <strong>map<\/strong>. When considering your route, you should also consider the local nature conservation rules and show respect for the environment and people! Depending on the area, there may be designated <strong>mountain bike<\/strong> <strong>routes<\/strong> to ensure that mountain bikers and hikers don\u2019t get in each other\u2019s way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The evening before a tour, you should always take a quick check over your bike! Inflate the tires (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.alpinetrek.co.uk\/mtb-tyre-pressure-calculator\/\">How much air pressure?<\/a>), check the gears and brakes and <strong>oil the chain<\/strong>.
