In this article, we\u2019ll explore what you should think about when buying waterproof trousers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the old saying goes, there\u2019s no such thing as bad weather, just unsuitable clothes, so in bad weather conditions, you need a <\/span>reliable outer layer<\/strong>. And that\u2019s just as important for your legs as your upper body. <\/span>Unlined overtrousers<\/strong> are a kind of <\/span>hardshell trousers<\/strong><\/a>. With flexible cuffs at the waist and long zips on the legs, they fit over other trousers and usually also over thick shoes.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the sheer range of options, even the most die-hard outdoor enthusiasts can be sent into a spin finding the right waterproof trousers. The first thing to consider before you buy is: what will I use waterproof trousers for and what do they need to withstand? There is not ONE pair of waterproof trousers for ALL uses<\/strong>. Short routes or multi-day tours? Showers or downpours? On foot or on the bike? Muddy lowlands or a rocky summit ridge? On warm, sunny days, they can be worn as an outer insulation layer<\/strong> over long johns when skiing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rainy days on the mountain have their own unique charm: while on busy summer days, you might have to wait in line to reach the summit, in bad weather, it\u2019s quiet and peaceful.
