If airing doesn\u2019t work and a freezer isn\u2019t available, there are still a few classic household solutions worth trying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One important note before you start: all of the methods below may affect delicate fabrics or colours. Test them on an inconspicuous area first if you want to be on the safe side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Baking Soda for Sweat Odours<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Baking soda is a household favourite thanks to its ability to neutralise odours and help combat bacteria. It is particularly suitable for lighter-coloured garments because it also has mild bleaching properties. If you want to remove both sweat stains and unpleasant smells, baking soda can be a great option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Use approximately 10g of baking soda per 5 litres of water.<\/strong> Mix the solution in a large bowl or bucket and soak the garment for several hours.<\/strong> Afterwards, wash it as usual. Alternatively, add one or two spoonfuls of baking soda directly to the detergent compartment during a normal wash cycle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vinegar is well known for tackling unpleasant smells around the home, making it a good choice for stubborn sweat odours in clothing. Mix light-coloured vinegar with water at a ratio of 1:4 and soak the garment in the solution.<\/strong> Vinegar essence can also be used, but it is much more concentrated and must be diluted according to the manufacturer’s instructions. How to Remove Body Odour from Clothes: Detergents and Wash Temperatures<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Not interested in home remedies? No problem. You can also remove sweat smell from clothing using the right washing method.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

High Washing Temperatures<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

If the garment can tolerate it, washing at a higher temperature is one of the most effective ways to remove odour-causing bacteria. Most bacteria die at temperatures of around 60\u00b0C or higher. Keep in mind that some modern washing machines do not always maintain full temperature throughout a standard 60\u00b0C programme.
