Product description

Sometimes you have to ski to access a climb, or do some climbing in the middle of a ski line, or maybe, if you're a very strange person, you rope up and tackle some belayed skiing. Stopping every ten minutes to switch out your gear just won't cut it, so Black Diamond designed the Access Hybrid LT Insulated Men's Jacket as a do-it-all mountaineering workhorse that's part belay jacket, part insulating midlayer, and part wind-blocking outer shell.

While the Access does the work of three jackets, it weighs less than one: just 12.7 ounces, which is peanuts when you realize that the bomber 20D Pertex nylon ripstop shell is filled with 40g PrimaLoft One synthetic insulation that'll keep you warm during chilly alpine belays or frozen pre-dawn starts. It also incorporates breathable and stretchy Schoeller side panels, which manage moisture and use NanoSphere technology to repel water.

Because one stretchy side panel isn't enough, Black Diamond also built the Access with climbing-specific gusseted underarm panels so you have all the range of movement you'll ever need. Combine that with a helmet-compatible hood and the ability to pack into its own pocket and clip easily to your harness, and it's easy to imagine all your other jackets staying in the closet for most of the winter.

Leicht, warm, kleines Packmass
