Bike maintenance and cleaning

The best way to express the love you have for your bike is through proper cleaning and maintenance. Chain oil, grease, bike cleaners and other maintenance products help keep your bike sparkling clean and they ensure long-term use.

Cleaning, polishing, degreasing

To remove dirt that’s been there a long time, you’ll need a bike cleaner and chain cleaner. The first thing to do is to spray a generous amount of a bike cleaning agent from F 100, or use another cleaning agent from Finish Line, over your bike. Leave the spray do its magic and then rinse with water and a brush. There are even special chain cleaners that help degrease heavily soiled chains. But watch out, cleaning your chain too often and with too much degreaser will attack the grease deposits in the chain and cause it to dry up completely. As a result, it will wear out much quicker.

Bike maintenance and cleaningGrease and lubricants for optimal performance

After cleaning your bike, you should lubricate all of the bike's moving parts to prevent rapid wear. You should also apply classic chain oil or a Teflon lubricant on the chains and the chain links. After five minutes, you can wipe off any excess oil. You should also ensure that the bearings and linkages on the rear triangle of your full-suspension bike are well lubricated at all times and that the spring elements are regularly maintained. However, please keep in mind that brake discs should never come into contact with oil. In addition, anti-rust and penetrating oils, such as the popular WD-40, are capable of freeing up stuck parts and dissolving rust. These shouldn’t be used to lubricate the chain or maintaining suspension forks because they dilute viscous oils and reduce their impact. As for the pedals, you should use a generous amount of assembly grease when installing or removing them. When mounting and maintaining carbon components, you must use a special assembly paste.

Make your bike shine like new

There are special products you can use that offer optimal protection and add shine. These seal the surface of the paint and bring back the colour to life.

As good as new

Riding a well-maintained bike is amazing. Both its appearance and functionality benefit from regular maintenance. Plus, lubricants reduce wear and ensure that everything runs smoothly. Another advantage of maintaining your bike is that you can notice if something needs to be repaired before anything worse happens.
