Product description
Down is nature's premium insulator: it has an optimal warmth-to-weight ratio, excellent loft retention, and is very compressible for easy packing. Its only drawback is that its benefits go out the door if it gets wet. Arc'teryx has found a solution to this problem with its Women's Thorium AR Down Jacket. The jacket features toasty 750-fill goose down insulation everywhere but in the spots that are prone to moisture buildup. The hood, collar, hem, and cuffs are filled with Arc'teryx's Coreloft polyester insulation, offering excellent warmth at a light weight, while also being highly compressible and able to maintain loft, but drying much more quickly than down and still insulating when wet. The jacket's durable nylon face fabric with a DWR finish protects the insulation underneath to keep light precipitation from turning into an imminent threat or nuisance in the first place. But it's nice to have the reassurance of more moisture-friendly insulation at key spots.

Beyond the thoughtful insulation mapping, Arc'teryx includes some other valuable features. The low-profile but tall collar offers full-coverage warmth around the neck, and layers easily under a shell jacket. The elasticized cuffs keep cold air sealed out, and you can snug in the drawcord-adjustable hem for extra protection. Zippered hand pockets protect contents inside, or can be used to warm your hands, and one of the pockets includes an integrated stuff sack that you can fit this highly compressible jacket into for backpack-ready convenience.
  • Wind- and water-resistant Colibri nylon mini-ripstop taffeta with DWR finish
  • 750-fill European goose down insulation
  • Coreloft 80g or 140g polyester insulation at the hood, collar, hem, and cuffs
  • Full-coverage collar height
  • Elasticized cuffs and drawcord-adjustable hem
  • Two zippered hand pockets (one with integrated stuff sack)

guter Midlayer

  • Advantages
    Good cut
