The Amundsen Peak Anorak is a totally waterproof and breathable hardshell jacket from Amundsen's High Mountain Expeditions Series. The initial idea was to develop a functional anorak for the Amundsen Sports Antarktis Expedition in 2011. The name comes from the connection with the successful scaling of the 1063m high Amundsen Peak. So its no wonder that this anorak is ideal for ski touring and suitable to small or large expeditions in permafrost as well as in the mountains. Its combination of stretch and waterproofing in the Schoeller fabric allows for total protection from the elements!
On the technical aspects of this stylish jacket are also impressive, such as the innovative, c_change membrane. This membrane is modelled on the natural structure of pinecones. This means that in high temperatures causing increased levels of perspiration the membrane opens its pores for better breathability. In contrast, the molecules of the membrane contract in cold temperatures and allow for better warmth insulation. This makes it ideal for changing conditions and tours on which you must be prepared for everything.
The stand-out highlight of this Anorak is its large lumbar pack, in which you can fit pretty much everything you need for a long day, so that you can get to it without having to put down your backpack: a map plus compass and GPS, energy bars, a telephone, skins as well as a knife and multitool, suncream, ski wax and much more. This makes the Amundsen Peak Anorak the perfect companion in every situation - whether for a 5000 ascent of for the next skiing and tobogganing tour.
