I ordered these as my old pair of trail shoes had become soft and offered very little support on long walks.
Being a size UK 14 I find getting good Boots and shoes difficult, sometimes you have to take what you can and thats normally down to a stockist having the size in sock and not a specific shoe for the purpose.
The Terrex Swift is a very well made shoe, the finish and functionality should stand against harsh use in cold wet places.
I have only worn them twice but so far really love them, the fit is perfect, the extra half size is great as you can wear heavy trail socks, the lacing system locks flimsy but is really good at keeping the fit correct, maybe in time it may wear quicker than other laces but I will wait and see.
The sole is stiff and gives brilliant support, I weigh 145kgs and find some footwear doesnt give me great support and I end up with sore feet, after a 2 hour forest walk yesterday in the wet and cold, I got home to find my feet warm and not sore.
They handled the muddy and rocky terrain very well, giving excellent grip going down slippy and muddy paths.
Overall I would recommend these shoes, I gave a 4 star as I haven't had them log enough to 5 star them, but no doubt they will reach it.
Also I think Adidas have given the larger footed man a good choice in footwear for outdoor activities for a reasonable price. other companies should take note of this.
- Good grip
