Well priced, but fragile - hole in 7/8 wears

These are my first pair of 2117 Merino items and were a good price. Cut is reasonable and they are warm.
Unfortunately, they developed a hole in the front of the thigh within 7-/8 wears. they were mainly used for sleeping in during wild camping cooler nights and had always been washed according to instructions and with a wool wash.
